Birds as an interactive ceiling to improve the acoustic of hallway

Response logic Concept

The Concept of interactivity is to imitate a human walk into a forest.

  • And when he keep quiet and approach the bird the bird will first stay still and keep quiet.
  • But when the man start to make noise the bird will be afraid and move away

  • Ultrasonic Sensor: the eye of the bird to detect the distance between the ceiling and the bird

Ultrasonic sensor on bird.jpg

  • Motion sensor: As a On/Off trigger for the whole movement of birds
  • Loudness sensor: To detect the noise, if there is so much noise the whole movement will stop

Acoustic and Use of material

  • We use acoustic material from Samira Boon Studio to make the birds.
  • The material will be good at absorbing high frequency sound and let the low frequency sound pass through.

On the ceiling we will attach sound absorbing material to absorb the low frequency which pass through the bird. Sound absorping foam.jpg
